Das meiste was auch schon auf Dragon's Lair zutraff, trifft auch auf die
Fortsetzung von Dragon's Lair zu!

Die Bild- und Tonqualität bewegen sich auf dem gleichem Level.
Leider hat auch bei dieser DVD der Hersteller AC3 versprochen, aber nur Dolby Digital 2.0
auf die DVD gepresst. Wenn man also vermutet, das alle Boxen, bis auf den Center, entwendet
wurden oder plötzlich den Geist aufegeben haben, der liegt völlig daneben. Denn die DVD
klingt, wie schon der erste Teil, ziemlich Mono! Aber wer hätte im Jahr 1983, in einem
Spielautomaten, auch schon Stereo oder gar AC3 erwartet? Ich nicht und folglich kommt
auch diese remasterte ohne Neuzeitlichen Sound aus.

Die Extras fallen bei Dragon's Lair II bedeutend magerer aus. Diese bestehen wieder aus
der Vorschau auf einige weitere Titel (Dragon's Lair, Space Ace und A Fork In The Tale)
und einem Bonus Video von ungefähr 10 Minuten Spielzeit, welches das Spiel im Vorstadium
zeigt.

Die Steuerung ist ebenfalls identisch mit der des ersten Teils. Allerdings wird einem
diesmal bedeutend mehr abverlangt! Es gilt praktisch im 2-3 Sekundentakt die richtige
Taste auf der Fernbedienung zu erwischen, um Dirk sicher durch die zahlreichen
Gefahren zu leiten, ansonsten kostet es eines der Bildschirmleben. Auch bei dieser
DVD kann ich nur wärmstens empfehlen, diese auf einem PC mit DVD-Laufwerk zu spielen,
da die Steuerung dort bedeutend einfacher in den Griff zu bekommen ist. Und wenn gar
nichts hilft, dann einfach in den Play-Modus schalten und Dirk entspannt bei der Rettung
seiner Daphne zuschauen.

Achtung: Die DVD ist Codefree im NTSC Format aufgenommen und erfordert einen NTSC-tauglichen Fernseher.

Well here is a sequel that has been around about half as long as the previous installment this one has a more humorous storyline.

The Story So Far:
Princess Daphne has been kidnapped by the Evil Wizard Mordoc who plans to force her into marriage, you must rescue her before the Death Ring is placed on her finger and then she will be lost forever.
Using your remote you control Dirk on his quest through the all familiar action reaction based game. If aren't familiar with this type of game then read my Dragons Lair 1 review for more details on this type of game.

As with Dragons Lair 1 this title is AC3 compatible, well my system is basic dolby pro logic surround which isn't a slouch of a system in its own rights. But the surround wasn't particularily impressive it was actually quite flat, but considering Dolby Surround Wasn't even a concept back when this game hit arcades I cannot say anything negative. But it would have been nice to have upgraded sound which would have given the game a fresh feel.

2 Speed Game Mode
This is a very smart feature on their part it is an option allowing you to have an exact 2 second decision gap, which is due to the lag time some players have once you press a button.

Watch Mode
Possibly my favorite mode is the abibility to watch the movie in its entirety, they should have stated this on the box I think it would sell more units. Its amazing how short the movie is when watching but when you play it for 15 hours and still haven't made it to the end you can feel some sort of redemption viewing what up until now a small handfull of people have ever accomplished.

Gameplay
Typically wireless controllers are short of being rediculous but the wireless remote of mine worked beautifully I cannot complain at all. The game is completely intact I miss the voices and music in the background it gives such a nostalgic feel when you now have the opportunity to play the actual game. Not a rough port over title this is the real deal short of finding a Dragons Lair machine still alive that doesn't freeze or skip.

Replay Value
Replay Value, oh it has an incredible amount of Replay mostly out of frustration for not being quick enough, great party game.

In conclusion
I have to say that Digital Leisure did an incredible job putting this title together, as this is a new entertainment format they are basically the first ones to make it work best and I hope there is a lot more to come, This concept could open doors to all sorts of DVD entertainment and edutainment.
