Pünktlich zum 20.ten Geburtstag von DragonŽs Lair haben wir die exclusive interaktive DVD, die auf jedem handelsüblichen DVD Player lauffähig ist. Man spielt mit der Fernbedienung des DVD-Players die ORIGINAL ARCADE Version. Ebenso lauffähig auf der XBOX mit Remotekit und auf der PS2. Ideal wer schon immer dieses Spiel in DVD Qualität haben wollte... Daten zur DVD "Space Ace" ========================= Bildformat...: 4:3 Kapitel......: - Tonformat....: Dolby Digital 2.0 Untertitel...: - Regionalcode.: 0 Extras.......: Spiel kann als Film betrachtet werden; zu den DVDs Dragon's Lair, Dragon's Lair II und A Fork In The Tale gibt es eine kurze Vorschau; Interviews mit Don Bluth und Rick Dyer Hinweis......: Laut Angabe des Herstellers ist diese DVD inkompatibel zu den meisten Playern von Samsung & Aiwa, sowie den Toshiba Playern 2109 und 3109! Das meiste was auch schon auf Dragon's Lair zutraff, trifft auch auf die DVD Space Ace zu. Die Bild- und Tonqualität bewegen sich auf dem gleichem Level. Leider hat auch bei dieser DVD der Hersteller AC3 versprochen, aber nur Dolby Digital 2.0 auf die DVD gepresst. Wenn man also vermutet, das alle Boxen, bis auf den Center, entwendet wurden oder plötzlich den Geist aufegeben haben, der liegt völlig daneben. Denn die DVD klingt, wie schon die beiden anderen DVDs, ziemlich Mono! Aber wer hätte im Jahr 1983, in einem Spielautomaten, auch schon Stereo oder gar AC3 erwartet? Ich nicht und folglich kommt auch diese remasterte ohne Neuzeitlichen Sound aus. Die Extras sind teilweise sehr interessant. Das gilt besonders für die Interviews mit Don Bluth und Rick Dyer. Desweiteren gibt es, wie schon bei den DVDs Dragon's Lair und Dragon's Lair II, Vorschauen auf einige weitere Titel. Und zwar zu Dragon's Lair, Dragons's Lair II und A Fork In The Tale. Die Steuerung ist ebenfalls identisch mit den beiden anderen DVDs. Auch hier muß die richtige Taste auf der Fernbedienung, zur rechten Zeit erwischt werden. Ansonsten kostet es eines der Bildschirmleben. Auch bei dieser DVD kann ich nur wärmstens empfehlen, diese auf einem PC mit DVD-Laufwerk zu spielen, da die Steuerung dort bedeutend einfacher in den Griff zu bekommen ist. Und wenn gar nichts hilft, dann einfach in den Play-Modus schalten und Ace entspannt bei der Rettung seiner Kimberly zuschauen. Achtung: Die DVD ist Codefree im NTSC Format aufgenommen und erfordert einen NTSC-tauglichen Fernseher. The Product Space Ace DVD Features 2 speed game mode Watch Mode Creator Interviews Here is another title in the ever growing lineup of DVD games from Digitalleisure, this one being my all time favorite of all the Laser Disc Games. 2 Speed Game Mode This is a very smart feature on their part it is an option allowing you to have an exact 2 second decision gap, which is due to the lag time some players have once you press a button. Watch Mode Possibly my favorite mode is the abibility to watch the movie in its entirety, they should have stated this on the box I think it would sell more units. Its amazing how short the movie is when watching but when you play it for 15 hours and still haven't made it to the end you can feel some sort of redemption viewing what up until now a small handfull of people have ever accomplished. Gameplay The gameplay is a lot more challenging than DLair 1 and 2 but thats just my opinion as well as being a lot more animated. But its still an exciting game to play even with the higher difficulty. Sound Quality The sound in Space Ace is incredible it has quite possibly the best surround sound I have ever heard and the system I have is your basic Dolby Pro Logic not AC3, which this game is enhanced for. Providing a memorable playing experience when cranked up load till the walls shake... Replay Value Replay Value, oh it has an incredible amount of Replay mostly out of frustration for not being quick enough, great party game. In conclusion I have to say that Digital Leisure did an incredible job putting this title together, as this is a new entertainment format they are basically the first ones to make it work best and I hope there is a lot more to come, This concept could open doors to all sorts of DVD entertainment and edutainment.
